The IN SPORT app will officially soft launch this Friday with its first-ever live stream, broadcasting the Warba Wangarunya Rugby League Carnival live from Emu Park, Central Queensland.
The Warba Wangarunya Rugby League Carnival is a culturally inclusive event that brings Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities together through rugby league, with a strong focus on social cohesion, participation, and positive outcomes for young people across the region. Warba Wangarunya translates to “One Together” — a principle that sits at the heart of both the carnival and the IN SPORT platform.
Rather than a traditional hard launch, IN SPORT has chosen a soft launch approach, introducing the app in real-world community environments where sport, culture, and storytelling intersect naturally. The Warba Wangarunya Carnival provides the ideal setting to test, refine, and showcase the platform’s live streaming capability while ensuring accessibility for both on-site attendees and remote viewers.
“This live stream represents more than just broadcasting a game,” an IN SPORT spokesperson said. “It’s about using technology to remove barriers — allowing families, communities, and supporters who can’t be there in person to still feel connected to the moment.”
The live stream will begin at 2:30pm on Friday 23rd, with viewers able to watch via the IN SPORT app, available now on iOS, Android and Meta Quest. No external streaming platforms are required, with all coverage hosted directly within the app.
