“Oi! You Mob Better Get Ready!” – Bush Tucker Bunjie Drops into the In Sport Studio Ahead of QMC

If you’ve ever met Bush Tucker Bunjie, you’ll know one thing for sure…

He’s not exactly known for keeping things quiet.

So when IN Sport Ambassador Gabriel Willie, better known as Bush Tucker Bunjie, dropped into the studio recently to chat about this year’s Queensland Murri Carnival (QMC), there were plenty of laughs, a few cheeky one-liners, and one very important message.

This year’s Queensland Murri Carnival is going live on the In Sport App.

And according to Bunjie…

“You mob have got no excuses now!”

For years, families have travelled hundreds—and sometimes thousands—of kilometres to be part of the Queensland Murri Carnival.

But let’s be honest…

Not everyone can make it.

Work gets in the way.

Life gets busy.

Sometimes the budget just doesn’t stretch far enough.

That’s exactly why In Sport has partnered with QMC—to make sure more people can still be part of the carnival, wherever they are.

Whether you’re cheering on your kids, backing your community, or just wanting to catch every big hit and brilliant try, you’ll be able to follow the action live through the In Sport app.

As Bunjie puts it:

“Nan can watch. Uncle can watch. That cousin who’s always saying he’s too busy… well, now he’s got no excuse either!”

“But Why Is There a Subscription?”

It’s probably the question we’ve been asked the most.

The answer is actually pretty simple.

Broadcasting an event the size of the Queensland Murri Carnival takes people, equipment, cameras, production crews, internet infrastructure and countless hours behind the scenes.

The subscription helps make all of that possible while supporting the ongoing growth of community sport.

For this year’s carnival, supporters have two simple options:

  • $10 for a single day of live access.

  • $45 for full access across the entire carnival week.

It’s an investment that helps deliver live coverage while supporting the future of community sport and ensuring more stories from our communities continue to be shared.

Or, as Bunjie explained…

“You’ll spend more than that on a couple of coffees… or a servo pie and a drink. This way, you’re backing our communities and getting to watch the carnival wherever you are.”

Easier Than Finding a Feed at Camp

One thing Bunjie was determined to prove during filming?

Downloading the In Sport App is easy.

Really easy.

A few taps, a quick sign-up and you’re ready to watch the carnival live.

No complicated setup.

No technical degree required.

Just download, subscribe and enjoy the action.

Bunjie summed it up best:

“If I can do it… trust me… you can do it!”

More Than Footy

The partnership between In Sport and the Queensland Murri Carnival isn’t just about putting games on a screen.

It’s about keeping families connected.

It’s about celebrating culture.

It’s about giving young athletes another opportunity to be seen.

It’s about preserving memories and creating a lasting record of one of Australia’s most significant Indigenous sporting events.

Every match tells a story.

Every player represents a community.

Every family has someone they’re cheering for.

This partnership helps make sure those moments can be shared well beyond the sidelines.

Keep an Eye Out…

Bunjie has been busy helping us spread the word, and you’ll be seeing plenty more of him in the lead-up to the carnival as he shares a few laughs, a few reminders and maybe even a little bit of cheek along the way.

One thing’s for sure…

He’ll make sure you don’t forget to download the app.

Or, in Bunjie’s words:

“Don’t be that bloke asking for someone’s login five minutes before kick-off. Get organised, download the In Sport App and we’ll see you at the carnival!”

The countdown to the Queensland Murri Carnival is on, and thanks to In Sport, the whole community can be part of every tackle, every try and every unforgettable moment.
